This Bachelor of Business Information Management Degree (BBIM) provides students with a current and world-leading specialist technical skillset required to excel in both their major and future careers. Along with technical upskilling, this course will see students equipped with the vital communication, analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to apply themselves effectively in their chosen professional pathway.
 
For full-time students, the degree can be completed within three consecutive years. Eight courses are undertaken in Years 1,  2, and 3 as a part of a 45-credit Capstone project. 
 
Upon completion, you will be well prepared for employment and be able to work autonomously in many entry-level positions. You will be able to apply yourself technically, professionally, ethically and confidently within a business and IT environment, all the while upholding the values of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Aotearoa/New Zealand's bicultural society.
 
1st Year: Introducction to the study field (prepare you for an industry-facing role)
The first year offers a range of advanced and specialist modules, all meticulously designed to prepare you for an industry-facing role. Courses are purposely broad and all-encompassing, your studies will touch on programming, communications, business management, data sciences, information system technology, social media networking and more.
 
2nd & 3er Year: Choose your Major (one of the following options)
 
OPTION A:  Major - Business Information Systems
Description: Help organisations navigate security and risk management solutions, conduct business analysis and integrate and co-ordinate business processes.
Do you enjoy the IT side of business practices from project management to security practices and data collection?  With a major in Business Information Systems, you will have an interest in both the business and IT functions and be well positioned to pursue a career as a Systems Analyst, Cybersecurity Analysis, Applications Developer, IT Tech Support Officer, and Business Analyst.
 
OPTION B: Major - Integrated Marketing Communications
Description: Develop creative and innovative ways to achieve business strategic marketing goals.
Are you creative and a good communicator? With a major in Integrated marketing communications, you will specialise in the brand and marketing side of Business Tech to develop innovative ways to integrate tech when engaging with customers. This major will help you forge a career as a Customer Insights Analyst, Consumer Marketing Coordinator, Social Media Specialist, Rebranding Assistant and Marketing Strategist.
 
OPTION C: Major - Data Analytics
Description: Specialise in collecting, analysing and presenting data to predict trends, give advice and progress into the future.
‍Are you a whizz with numbers and have a knack for seeing trends in data? With a major in Data Analytics you’ll specialise in collating, analysing, and presenting business data. This major will get you set for a career as a Data Warehouse Engineer, Database Developer Administrator, Business Intelligence Analyst, and Marketing or Research Analysts.
 
International English Requirements:
IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 or equivalent, or
UE equivalent in Cambridge International Examinations (CIE 120 rank score).
 
Other eligibility criteria are available for applicants who do not meet any of the above.
